Cerise features contemporary European cuisine inspired by Chef Ben & his wife Elena Thomas' time abroad and love of open-air markets; those found in every neighborhood with fresh produce, game, cheeses and milk and incredible boiling and bubbling dishes from diverse ethnicities. The dishes will highlight the lighter more modern side of European cuisine, and the diversity of dishes represented by the region's varied landscapes. The name 'Cerise' (French for 'cherry'), is inspired by the cherry season that marks the most abundant time of year in Europe's farm regions and markets.
We believe that fantastic food does not need to be served in a stale or stuffy setting for a meal to be truly memorable. In Europe there is a social ritual to dining, where a multi-course meal does not require over-eating, and isn't limited to special occasions. These are meals that involve spending time with friends and family while enjoying the best the season has to offer.
Cerise is a BYOB, conveniently located near parking and the Bryn Mawr Wine & Spirits store. We are always happy to share recommendations on pairings for our current menu.

DinnerCerise offers guests a four-course prix fixe menu, with several options for each course. Expect to be full, but not over-stuffed, by meal's end! We welcome vegetarian and gluten-free guests, just let us know when you make a reservation and we'll be sure to have dishes to delight!

Mussel SundaysDue to a shortage of shellfish out of the northeast, we are temporarily suspending Mussel Sundays. We hope to reintroduce mussels once the shortage ends, check back soon!
Pre and Post Theater DinnerTo support the renewed Bryn Mawr dinner and movie scene, Cerise now offers a Pre and Post Theater Menu. Available Wednesday to Sunday for reservations from 5:00-6:00pm or 9:00-10:00pm, guests can choose any two courses from our Prix Fixe Menu for $29. Happy movie going!
Chef Ben ThomasBen Thomas is a classic-French trained chef with experience at some of Philadelphia's top dining spots. Ben attended French culinary school at L'Academie de Cuisine outside of Washington D.C., studying under Michelin star chef Gerard Pangaud. Since moving to Philadelphia in 2007, Benjamin has worked as a celebrity caterer in New York with Callahan Catering, at the Rittenhouse Hotel's acclaimed Restaurant LaCroix, and at one of the Philadelphia area's 2012 top new American restaurants, Sycamore, in Lansdowne.
In 2010, Ben joined his wife Elena on assignment in France; there he was invited via Chef Pangaud to chef at a bistro in Paris. While living in France, they also had the opportunity to travel extensively across Europe, exploring outdoor food markets and regional cuisine. From France, Ben and Elena moved to Mexico City where Ben delved into new ingredients and techniques. These experiences became the inspiration for Cerise.
